The watermark is embedded before distribution. The later inspection uses that signal as additional forensic evidence; this is not general-purpose deepfake detection.
Why this matters
Forensic watermarking is usually discussed as a way to attribute a captured copy to its source. This demonstration explores a second question: can the same invisible signal help an authorised team investigate whether a protected video changed after it left the original workflow?

Sponsor boards, logos and product placement can be swapped after distribution. A watermark-derived signal can give an authorised team an additional indication of where a protected video may have been changed.
